English in Devon is made up of schools located in Devon which are accredited by the British Council. There are currently 14 member schools of English in Devon situated in Exeter, Torquay, Paignton, Plymouth, Budleigh Salterton, Totnes and Sidmouth.

There are some 250 British Council accredited schools in the UK many of whom are members of ENGLISHUK whose code of conduct requires them to provide : well-equipped buildings, well-qualified teachers, carefully prepared teaching programmes, high quality accommodation in host families, residences or hotels and an interesting programme of leisure activities.

The ENGLISHUK regulations are backed up by the British Council Accreditation Scheme and the ENGLISHUK 'Ombudsman' who is an independent arbitrator between schools and students.
